The solid was a result of a Mechanical Design course assignment, which was taken at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC Minas). The magnetic door lock was designed in order to aid people with visual disabilities to open their doors. It was made in plastic and the lock cylinder had a magnet to attract the keys, consequently, drive them in the right position to facilitate the target public to open their doors with ease.
